AEP Ohio — Electric Service
AEP Ohio is the regulated electric utility for most of southern Ohio, including the City of Chillicothe and the surrounding township areas in Ross County. AEP owns the poles, wires, and meters, and is responsible for restoring power during outages.
Ohio Energy Choice
Ohio is a deregulated electricity market. AEP Ohio always delivers the power, but you can choose a separate supplier for the energy generation portion of your bill. Approved suppliers are listed on Ohio's Public Utilities Commission energy-choice site. The delivery half of the bill stays with AEP regardless of which supplier you pick.
